The park features monuments and memorials celebrating the veterans of the Second World War, and its construction began in 1961. Consisting of four ponds and a fountain, a plethora of plant life, including cherry blossoms, magnolias, rhododendron, weeping willows, and a cascading waterfall, it is truly a picturesque spot. This incredible bronze figure was designed by renowned Canadian sculptor Walter Seymour Allward and was unveiled in 1963 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the arrival of the British Loyalists to Canada. Its majestic statue, "The Torch of Freedom", is anchored at the heart of Port Credit Memorial Park. Encircled by a stone wall and situated in front of a cascading pond with a perfect view of the Toronto skyline behind it, this statue is symbolic of remembrance and hope.


Port Credit Memorial Park is a place of natural beauty and home to various activities for all ages. There are picnic spots, trails, free public Wi-Fi, a children’s playground, and a seasonal ice skating rink during the colder months. Regardless of the time of year, the park's vast pathways and trails can be used for walking and cycling, enjoying the lush foliage and picturesque waterfront views. The park's pier frequently contains boats taking a leisurely cruise upon Lake Ontario, while the southern side is home to great fishing spots.
